New and Improved My Happy Hut!

For the past couple of weeks I have been working tirelessly to get the outside of the hut to be as fabulous as the inside! I've been coming down in freezing, windy weather after work and painting for whole weekends, I wanted to get it finished before the first Happy Hutter of the year rented it, and in time to enter it in the  Beach Hut of the Year competition!

Luckily I got it all done just in the nick of time!

Look how pretty she is now, I'm simply dotty about her!

Autumn Is Coming

The weather is changing noticeably into my favourite time of the year, Autumn.
Whilst it is wonderful to sit outside the hut, basking in the warm summer sunshine, there is something to be said for a bracing walk along the coast, then back to the hut for a hot mug of tea or a steaming bowl of soup, then to sit and watch the wind blown dog walkers scurrying past, and the grey clouds rolling across the khaki sea, from behind double glazed windows, in the warm with a worn out, sleeping dog at ones feet.

Scones and Tea

After a busy weekend of beach hutting with my friends, I walked the dog down to the hut this morning to chill out with home made scones and tea, enjoying the peace and quiet of the first day of term!

Last Weeks Of Summer

We are now into the last couple of weeks of the summer holidays, I hesitate to say the last weeks of summer because usually the weather in September and even October, is usually glorious.

Weekends are booking up fast so if you fancy a midweek laze by the sea now is your chance, there have been some stunning sunsets this week, this one for example even turned the sea pink!

Set on the front row of Dovercourt beach, this beautiful beach hut has everything you could want for a relaxing day at the seaside.

It is situated opposite the 'dogs welcome' part of the beach and backs on to the large playing field which is perfect for all sorts of fun and games including kite flying. The toilet block and FREE car park are just a 3 mins walk away and a fresh water tap is just round the back.

On the other side of the playing field there is a skate park, playground, roller skating rink, pitch and putt and croquet lawn, a small games arcade, an indoor swimming pool, cafes and an excellent fish and chip shop. On certain days of the week a vintage Citroen van parks up selling  coffees, teas, crepes etc

The front of the hut has double glazed windows and single glazed doors making it perfect to use all year round, why waste the winter sunshine when you can be snug and cosy inside with a hot mug of tea, watching the ships sail by?
The door is lockable which means you don't have to lock the whole hut up just to nip to the loo or buy some chips.

Inside is much larger than average and it has a very generous kitchen area with a 2 ring hob and grill, perfect for a fry up, beans on toast or a pasta dish!
It comes with deck chairs and fold out chairs, windbreaks, toys, including Swingball, blankets and plenty of plates and cutlery.
There is also tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and milk.
